O site de busca mais usado no mundo aumentou em 77% o valor de sua marca em relação a 2005, o que permitiu à empresa superar a GE (com um valor estimado em US$ 61,88 bilhões), a Microsoft (US$ 54,951 bilhões), a Coca-Cola (US$ 44,134 bilhões), a China Mobile, a Marlboro e a maior rede de supermercados do mundo, a Wal-Mart.
Os criadores do Google, que registraram o domínio google.com em setembro de 1997, conseguiram em menos de uma década estabelecer uma marca com um valor superior ao do refrigerante mais bebido do mundo, a Coca-Cola, da cadeia de fast-food McDonald’s e da marca de carros de luxo BMW.

Breaking Free | High School Musical
Nova Délhi, 20 mai (EFE).- Pelo menos 800.000 livros e manuscritos da Universidade de Mysore (sul), incluindo os primeiros tratados políticos indianos, do século IV antes de Cristo, serão digitalizados pela empresa americana Google, informou hoje uma fonte do centro.
“Temos cerca de 100.000 manuscritos escritos em papel e sobre folha de palma, alguns deles do século VIII. O esforço é restaurar e preservar esta herança cultural para divulgar o conhecimento”, disse em à agência indiana “Ians” o vice-reitor da Universidade, J. Shashidhara Prasad.
Segundo Prasad, o Google se ofereceu para digitalizar os manuscritos, assim como cerca de 700.000 livros, sem a necessidade de pagamento, mas obtendo, em troca, livre acesso às obras.
Fundada no ano de 1916, a Universidade de Mysore é um dos principais centros acadêmicos da Índia, com cerca de 55.000 estudantes.
